Egg: This egg, collected on 30 July 2005 off Park Rynie, had a clear chorion with a distinctly red sheen (Plate A). Unfortunately its development was not documented with further images.
The hatched larva had the general appearance of CDIA1, was duly noted as such and dispatched for barcoding. Barcoding was successful, and the sequence matched an adult Regalecus glesne from New Zealand, in the BOLD archive (reference). Another egg collected on 31/7/2007, measuring 2.735mm, and described as pink and furry, has also matched R. glesne.
